Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Mozaic, LLC was founded in 2007 by Christopher J. Zyda, an executive with over 30 years of investment management and senior level corporate finance experience at several high-profile growth companies including The Walt Disney Company, Amazon.com, and eBay.
Chris began his career at The Walt Disney Company in 1988, where he held several Corporate Treasury positions and ultimately served as Disney’s Chief Investment Officer, overseeing more than $4 billion of investments in a variety of sophisticated equity, fixed income, real estate, and alternative investment strategies. Chris also served as a key member of Disney’s investor relations management team, crafting investor communications for numerous Wall Street analyst conferences, stockholders’ meetings and high-profile company transactions including the initial public listing of shares for Euro Disney SCA in 1989 and Disney’s acquisition of Capital Cities/ABC in 1995. Chris also participated in capital market financings for Disney that raised over $3 billion, and he served as a member of the integration team for Disney’s 1995 acquisition of Capital Cities/ABC.
Chris joined Amazon.com in 1998, and as its Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer he built Amazon’s Corporate Treasury team and secured more than $2 billion of capital market and lease financing to support the company’s global expansion. Chris partnered with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and global financial institutions to accelerate the then-emerging market for e-commerce online payments. Chris also negotiated several financial and tax incentives to support Amazon’s global growth efforts. Chris then was promoted to Vice President and International Chief Financial Officer for Amazon, and was integrally involved in the launch of Amazon’s France, Japan and Canada websites and several new product categories. Chris played an instrumental role in helping Amazon avoid bankruptcy in 2001 and contributed significantly to Amazon’s financial turnaround by successfully restructuring the International Segment so that it became Amazon’s first business segment in its history to generate a profit.
Chris joined eBay in 2001, and as its Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis he managed eBay’s first comprehensive financial planning and budgeting process, instituted crucial financial infrastructure, controls and processes, managed investor relations functions and served as a key member of its PayPal acquisition team. Chris joined Luminent in 2003 as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, where he led the real estate investment trust’s initial public offering of stock on the New York Stock Exchange and raised a total of nearly $5 billion of capital market financing to support the company’s growth to over $9 billion in assets.
Chris earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 1989 with a concentration in Finance and achieved Beta Gamma Sigma honors. Chris also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of California Los Angeles in 1984.
